From the slums of her childhood to the limelight of her
successful career, Amalia Rodrigues, the greatest Fado
singer ever, strived to sing and survive, to live and love. It
begins in 1984 in a New York Hotel room and Amalia is about
to take her life. From 1954 to 1984, the movie shows her life,
capturing the emotions of her childhood, her mesmerizing
career, and her everlasting heartbreaks. The only place
where Amalia was truly loved was on stage.
